The lawyer Rustam Isaev has been detained in a case related to pawnshops

The GKNB has uncovered facts of the lawyer's abuses

According to information from the GKNB press center, lawyer Rustam Isaev was detained in connection with a case involving pawnshop activities.

Previously, the GKNB arrested Manas Sultanov, the owner of a network of pawnshops, who is suspected of fraud and extortion.

As explained by the GKNB, "the suspect, pursuing personal gain, engaged in illegal activities, exploiting the vulnerable situation of citizens by offering them loans on onerous terms and at high interest rates, which put the victims in a state of dependency and deprived them of the ability to fulfill their obligations. As a result, he unlawfully seized movable and immovable property from clients."

Manas Sultanov employed methods of pressure and intimidation, thereby hindering citizens from seeking protection of their rights and interests.

In turn, to carry out his criminal activities, he involved lawyer Rustam Isaev, who was his partner.

According to the committee, "with Isaev's involvement, extortion and blackmail of real estate were carried out against the leaders of the LLC 'Expert Stroy' - the residential complex 'Silk Road' and LLC 'Arz Development'. Isaev, possessing legal knowledge and experience, provided consulting services and assisted Sultanov in carrying out illegal actions, including threats to representatives of construction companies and shareholders to coerce them into transferring property."

The GKNB also noted that 89 shareholders of the residential complex 'Silk Road', representatives of LLC 'Arz Development', and other citizens of Kyrgyzstan suffered from their illegal activities.

Lawyer Isaev has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB, and the investigation is ongoing.
