It was previously reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) about the detention of suspects in extortion. The investigation established that one of the residents of Bishkek accused her acquaintance of rape. Together with the district officer of the GOM-4 of the October District Internal Affairs Department, they conspired to extort money for a favorable resolution of the criminal case. On January 17, they were caught red-handed while receiving 350,000 soms.
The Internal Affairs Department confirmed that the detained police officer had been suspended from service in the internal affairs bodies since February 2025 and is currently under administrative control.
