On October 29, 2025, in the Chui region, as a result of joint actions by the officers of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayil district and representatives of the public association "Kalinin Interdistrict Society of Hunters and Fishermen," individuals suspected of poaching were detained, as reported by the press service of the regional police department.
Firearms were discovered in the possession of the detainees, for which the necessary permits were absent.
This incident was recorded in the established manner, after which a preliminary investigation was initiated. A forensic ballistic examination was appointed concerning the seized firearms.
The examination results established that the seized rifles are rifled firearms, specifically single-shot hunting rifles "TOZ-16" and "TOZ-8".
On February 2, 2026, a criminal case was initiated under Article 267 (Illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On February 16, 2026, the suspects - citizens M.M. and K.R., both born in 1988, were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility based on Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The investigation is ongoing.
