In the yard of house No. 25 in the Otorbaev quarter of the city of Kara-Balta, an unusual event for this time of year occurred on January 12 — snowdrops bloomed.

Photos capturing this early blooming were taken on the same day. The air temperature reached +10°C during the day and remained warm at night, prompting nature to begin the spring cycle significantly earlier than usual.

“This phenomenon vividly illustrates how climate change affects the biological rhythms of plants. Snowdrops are among the first plants to start awakening, responding to rising temperatures and increased solar activity, which indicates global climate shifts,” noted local resident Tatiana Ivanova.
Earlier, Turmush reported that at the beginning of January 2026, tourists noticed the first snowdrops in the foothills of the Sokuluk district.

“I saw these spring flowers for the first time so early,” shared nature lover Alexander Sosin.
