Starting from January 20, a new rule will come into effect, according to which all children under 14 years old must have a foreign passport for trips to Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This requirement also applies to the partially recognized territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as reported by Meduza.

The Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia notified about this change back in October 2025. At the same time, children who left with a birth certificate before January 20, 2026, will be able to return to Russia using this document.
