The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan commented on the incident involving the collapse of part of the roof of a school built with the help of the charity fund "As-Salam".

The facility in question is the Islam Kasmaliev School, which has a capacity of 150 students and is located in the village of Min-Bulak in the Tyup District of the Issyk-Kul Region. Construction began in 2023, with the contractor being LLC "Energy-Nur Stroy".

As noted by the Ministry of Construction, the school has not yet been commissioned. During the roof installation process, the facility was not accepted by the Issyk-Kul Regional Department of the State Architectural and Construction Control, and the contractor received multiple warnings.

Part of the school's roof collapsed on the night of January 18, 2026, due to heavy snowfall.

Following the incident, the contracting organization LLC "Energy-Nur Stroy" was issued a written warning and instructed to restore the facility. The Ministry of Construction reported that the school's roof has now been successfully restored. Additionally, a fine of 200,000 soms has been imposed on the contractor, and the issue of possibly suspending their license will be discussed at a commission meeting.

After an inspection and receiving a positive conclusion from the authorized bodies, the official commissioning of the school is planned.
