In 2025, 10 workers fell from construction sites

The responsibility for incidents fell on both the construction company workers and the Ministry of Construction.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised pressing issues regarding labor safety on construction sites, as well as oversight of compliance with safety regulations.

He questioned who exactly is responsible for monitoring the activities of construction companies.

In response, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Talantbek Imanakun uulu stated that once projects are registered with the Ministry, compliance with safety regulations becomes mandatory. Construction sites maintain accounting journals, and workers undergo regular monthly checks and training.

"In 2025, over 10 incidents were recorded, resulting in both minor and serious injuries to workers. Those responsible were held accountable, including the detention of both the construction company managers and the safety officers, as well as our representatives from the Ministry. As part of the digitization program, all construction sites are equipped with surveillance cameras for online monitoring," noted the deputy minister.

Deputy Bekeshev expressed the opinion that he is not concerned about fines, but it is much more important to care for the injured. He cited an example from Osh, where during the construction of a nine-story building, one of the workers fell and became disabled, but the compensation he receives is not complete. Bekeshev emphasized the need for strict oversight of payments and adherence to safety rules at construction sites.
