At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Bolot Saginayev raised an important issue regarding food security, concerning the sale of sweet products and drinks of unclear origin near educational institutions.

He noted that "our young generation actively consumes such products, and in 5-10 years this could have a negative impact on their health. We cannot afford to raise a generation with kidney problems and other diseases. Are measures being taken to ban the sale of such goods, and is there a verification of certificates?" he inquired.

The response from Deputy Minister of Health Ryspek Sydygaliev was that there is a rule stating that pavilions and kiosks cannot be located closer than 50 meters from schools and universities.

“However, some trading points continue to operate. Each product is checked for certificates. In 2025, 14,270 facilities were inspected across the country, and penalties were imposed on violators,” he added.
