At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the prospects for the development of solar energy in Kyrgyzstan were discussed. During the discussion, Deputy Altynbek Kylchayev asked about the presence of enterprises for the production of solar panels in the country.
Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov responded that there are currently no such productions, but work in this direction is actively ongoing.
Kylchayev added that quartzite is required for the creation of solar panels, which serves as raw material for obtaining monocrystalline silicon. He noted that it is possible to organize the production of technical quartzite, polycrystalline silicon, and monocrystalline silicon based on the State Enterprise "Kristall".
"Many regions are interested in installing solar panels. I spoke with designers, and to start production, about 1 billion soms will be needed. It is also possible to produce other goods. Approximately 6,000 people will be able to find work at one plant, and to complete the project, it is necessary to build four such enterprises," Kylchayev stated.
The Deputy Minister also noted that investors are showing active interest in the implementation of solar panels, and the ministry is ready to support such initiatives.
