A resident of Batken bought a plane for his apricot orchard

A local entrepreneur from the Batken region has become the owner of an airplane purchased at auction.

This old aircraft has been installed on the grounds of an apricot orchard in the Töö-Tash area, located in the city of Batken.

The aircraft was divided into two parts and transported from Bishkek to Batken using a cargo truck (trailer). After restoration and repair, it is planned to be used as an exhibition piece for local residents and tourists.

The entrepreneur did not disclose the amount for which the airplane was purchased.



In December 2025, the Open Joint Stock Company "Airports of Kyrgyzstan" held an open auction at which 5 decommissioned aircraft were offered.

One of the aircraft put up for auction was the "Yak-40" (EX-88199) with a starting price of 1,257,460 soms. This jet belongs to the Yak-40 family and is intended for VIP transportation and charters.

Main characteristics:

- Manufacturer: OKB Yakovlev (USSR), production period 1967–1981.

- Configuration: low-wing with a straight wing and T-tail.

- Engines: 3 × Ivchenko AI-25.

- Cabin: accommodates 24 to 27 seats, depending on the configuration (a version for up to 32 passengers is possible).

- Feature: can take off and land on short runways due to wing mechanization.

- Condition: fully equipped.
