This sinkhole, which emerged right in the middle of the road, "devoured" a significant portion of the asphalt in just a few seconds.
On February 12, during the day, this incident occurred at the construction site of the future "Jiaxian" metro line. A day prior, a dangerous leak of groundwater had already been noticed in the area. The power of the sinkhole was such that local residents felt underground tremors.
Footage from security cameras quickly spread online, showing the ground collapsing, the asphalt cracking, and cars narrowly swerving to avoid the sinkhole.
According to city officials, no one was injured or killed as a result of the incident. The construction site workers were evacuated in time.
