Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Tabyldy Muratbekov, has proposed an initiative to grant Cholpon-Ata the status of a tourist city.
He believes that this decision will help make Cholpon-Ata a model for other tourist destinations in the country.
“The main highway is already ready, and a significant increase in tourist flow is expected during the summer season. This year, the SCO summit and the World Nomad Games will take place here. It is necessary to prepare the city for this event,” the deputy added.
He also noted that work has begun on the construction of a bypass road in Cholpon-Ata, which is being carried out by a Chinese company. Simultaneously, design work is underway, which will also include the village of Bosteri, helping to avoid traffic jams during the summer period,” he emphasized.
