On February 21, a festive evening dedicated to the International Mother Language Day was held in Karakol, titled "The Wealth of the People is Their Native Language" (Эл байлыгы — эне тил).

The event took place at the Tugalbai Sydykbekov Regional Library, where representatives of various ethnic groups living in Karakol gathered, along with members of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, students, schoolchildren, and library staff.

During the evening's program, each school presented its culture, language, and traditions. Participants prepared reports on the history of their native languages, recited proverbs, and performed poetic works and songs in their languages. Additionally, as part of the "Kelgile oinoylu" ("Let's Play") segment, national games were organized, showcasing traditional entertainments from different ethnic groups.

Students from the State Music College named after Y. Tumanov also performed at the celebration, playing Kyrgyz melodies and folk songs.

As noted by Aibek Mayrykov, a representative of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan in the Issyk-Kul region, the main objectives of this celebration are to strengthen interethnic harmony, respect and preserve the languages of all peoples, and implement the concept of "Kyrgyz Jaran."

At the end of the evening, participants received commemorative gifts — books.
