






On February 20, public hearings were held in Bishkek regarding the budget project for 2026. This was reported by the city administration.
Residents of the city, as well as the deputy mayors, deputies of the Bishkek City Council, and heads of various city and district services attended the event.
The hearings were conducted under the leadership of the chairman of the Bishkek City Council, Bekzhan Usenaliev, with the participation of the first deputy mayor, Mirlanbek Baigonchokov, the deputy chairman of the Bishkek City Council, Zhyldyzbek Abdraymov, and the chairman of the budget commission, Elnura Duyshiekeeva.
Mirlanbek Baigonchokov, the first deputy mayor, emphasized the significance of several projects implemented in 2025.
“Over the past five years, the capital's budget has tripled. The city is rapidly developing, and we are implementing many initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens. We are confident that we can achieve major plans and make Bishkek more comfortable and modern,” he noted.
The budget project for 2026 was presented by Ruslan Sadyrbaev, head of the Bishkek Financial Department of the Ministry of Finance. He reported that the actual budget revenues for 2025 amounted to 30.5 billion soms, which corresponds to 103.8% of the planned amount, with an overperformance of 1.1 billion soms.
The budget expenditures in 2025 amounted to 30.7 billion soms, most of which were directed towards urban development. Additionally, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, an additional 2.9 billion soms was allocated from the Stabilization Fund to support urban infrastructure. These funds were mainly spent on the construction and repair of roads, landscaping, and ensuring safety in educational institutions, as well as on other important projects.
According to Ruslan Sadyrbaev, local budget revenues for 2026 are projected to be at the level of 32.9 billion soms. These funds will be directed towards improving road and transport infrastructure, major repairs and construction of new social facilities, as well as landscaping and greening of districts.
During the hearings, citizens raised questions on various topics, including gasification, sewage, roads, and social facilities. Representatives of the municipality and deputies of the Bishkek City Council answered their questions, and the suggestions made were noted and forwarded to the relevant services for further consideration.
