Officials from the regions were shown how Bishkek converts solid waste into electricity

On February 27, an excursion was held at the eco-technological plant in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which converts solid household waste (SHW) into electricity. This event was organized for the authorized representatives of the president, akims, and city mayors, as reported by the city hall.

The Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev conducted the tour, familiarizing participants with modern technologies used in waste recycling and electricity generation.

The delegation learned about the technological process of waste processing, the plant's ecological safety system, and the innovative solutions employed in production. Participants were provided with information about the design capacity, waste disposal methods, and the volumes of electricity generated from the processing of SHW.

The city hall noted that Bishkek has faced serious environmental problems for many years, as up to 1,500 tons of waste were transported to the landfill daily, and there was previously no comprehensive solution to this issue. The opening of the first eco-technological plant in Central Asia has become an important step towards improving the waste situation and the ecological environment in the city.

The total investment in the project amounted to 95 million US dollars. The plant is capable of processing up to 365,000 tons of waste per year and includes a 30 MW condensing turbo-generator power plant.

Currently, the enterprise can process up to 1,000 tons of waste per day, with a gradual increase in its capacity.
