The deputy proposes to ban the 'Kolfest' festival on Issyk-Kul

According to the deputy, the festival contradicts national values

At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on science, education, innovations, information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs, Bolot Saginayev, a deputy, expressed concerns about the international festival "Kolfest," which took place on Issyk-Kul a few years ago. He claims that the event may violate the law prohibiting the promotion of LGBT and harm national values.

Saginayev referred to the opinions of local residents, as well as photographs and videos showing festival participants wearing national clothing on bare bodies and behaving inappropriately, not in line with the country's traditions.

Moreover, according to him, used syringes were found at the festival site the next day, which also raises serious concerns.

The deputy noted that there are again plans to organize the festival this year, and he strongly urges that such events be prevented.

According to information on the official festival website, KOLFEST is an international music, art, and cultural festival held on the shores of Issyk-Kul. This year, the event is scheduled for July 24-26.
