After the congratulatory speeches, there was an entertainment program organized by cultural workers.

The idea of celebrating March 5 as the Day of the Ak Kalpak first emerged in 2011 thanks to the initiative group "Ak Kalpak."

This initiative was supported by the population, and since then, patriots and Kyrgyz people have begun to wear ak kalpaks on this day. Later, the proposal was endorsed by the Jogorku Kenesh, and on June 29, 2016, March 5 was officially established as the Day of the Ak Kalpak.

This day, established by a resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh, is celebrated annually in Kyrgyzstan in honor of the national headdress. The purpose of the holiday is to preserve and respect the values of national culture, support traditions, and awaken pride in Kyrgyz culture. The holiday began to be celebrated unofficially back in 2011.
