On the air of Birinchi Radio, the Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service, Kubanychbek Isabekov, expressed concern about the operation of the textile industry in the context of the shadow economy.
“The hidden existence of businesses in the textile sector is a serious problem. We constantly discuss this at meetings with entrepreneurs,” he emphasized.
According to Isabekov, the legalization of labor relations in the industry is becoming especially important against the backdrop of tightening control over exports to Russia. Russian partners require that all supplies be made in compliance with the law and the payment of all taxes, including VAT.
The Deputy Chairman of the GNS added that previously many entrepreneurs reported only a portion of their employees. “For example, out of 20 employees, only two or three were listed in the reports, and they themselves admitted this,” he noted.
According to Isabekov, representatives of the textile industry are being offered to start with a clean slate, without returning to previous violations.
Today, official statistics show that about 10,000 to 13,000 workers in the textile industry are registered, for whom taxes are paid. However, industry estimates suggest that the actual number of employed individuals is significantly higher — from 100,000 to 200,000 people. “We aim to officially register at least 50,000 to 100,000 workers. Insurance contributions are the future pension provision for our citizens,” Isabekov added.
