Construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 is Gaining Momentum

In Kyrgyzstan, work is actively underway to implement one of the significant energy projects in Central Asia — the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1. This project aims to strengthen the country's energy security and optimize the use of hydroelectric resources. The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported this.

Upon completion, the HPP will become the largest hydroelectric facility in Kyrgyzstan with an installed capacity of 1,860 MW, which will significantly increase electricity production and enhance the country's energy independence.

Currently, preparatory work is actively being conducted in the mountainous region of the Jalal-Abad region, including the construction of roads, power transmission lines, and a 110 kV substation, as well as the construction of a bridge over the Naryn River and the establishment of a temporary settlement for workers.

At this time, the following achievements can be noted:

- the road from the Bishkek–Osh highway to the construction site is 90% complete;

- the excavation of a transport tunnel 126 m long has been completed;

- work continues on the construction of the power transmission line and 110 kV substation;

- the access road to the HPP site is 85% complete;

- the construction of the bridge is 40–50% complete;

- the temporary settlement for 100 people is 60% complete.
