This information was provided by the water management department of the Batken region.
Currently, water is not being supplied for irrigation, but is being used for spring accumulation.
“The repair work on the P-6 canal is ongoing, and the first phase is expected to be completed by April 15,” the department added.
The canal will supply water to 2,600 hectares of agricultural land, drawing resources from the reservoir.
As of early April 2025, the volume of water in the Tort-Gul Reservoir was 89.251 million cubic meters, and irrigation of the land had not yet begun.
The Tort-Gul Reservoir has a capacity of 90 million cubic meters of water.
The construction of the reservoir was completed in 1972 in the Batken region.
It supplies irrigation water to agricultural areas in Batken and surrounding regions.
Its significance extends beyond the region, holding strategic importance for the entire country.
