The event was attended by the mayor of the city, a deputy of the city council, and the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Talas Nuraliev, as well as the athletes themselves.
More than 4 million soms were allocated from the city budget for the awards.
“The ceremony was organized in anticipation of the World Sports Day, which is celebrated on April 6. Those who represented Manas in the competitions for 2025 were invited to the awards,” noted Talas Nuraliev.
A total of 54 people, including athletes and their coaches, received cash prizes and certificates of honor from the mayor's office. Depending on the results achieved, the prize amounts ranged from 30,000 to 450,000 soms.
In Manas, there are five Olympic reserve schools where classes are held in seven Olympic sports: boxing, judo, athletics, weightlifting, Greco-Roman wrestling, and freestyle wrestling. The city also has one boxing academy and a stadium where more than 3,000 students are trained.
