The Balykchy–Bokonbaev–Karakol highway is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of this year. This was stated by the head of the planning, preparation, and acceptance department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Kubanych Beksultanov, during a broadcast on Birinchi Radio.
According to Beksultanov, this road is one of the key ones for the region. The construction of this important facility has been ongoing for five years, and by the president's directive, it is necessary to complete the work in 2023. It is important to note that all construction activities must be finished before the start of the tourist season.
In addition, among the priority projects planned for 2026 are bypass roads in Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy, as well as roads leading to the tourist complex "Ala-Tuu Resort." According to the ministry, all these works will also be completed this year.
