The youth hockey team of Kyrgyzstan, competing under 20 years old, has won gold medals, claiming the title of world champion in Group B of the third division.
According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, the athletes from Kyrgyzstan demonstrated high performance, winning all five matches of the tournament.
During the competition, the Kyrgyzstan team achieved the following victories: 4:1 against Hong Kong, 7:2 over South Africa, 15:1 against Iran, 5:3 against Luxembourg, and 7:4 against Mexico.
With 15 points in the tournament, the Kyrgyz team took first place, earning them the title of world champion in the third division of Group B. This achievement opens up the opportunity for the team to compete in the next season in Group A of the third division of the world championship.
The silver medals went to the team from Hong Kong, while the bronze medals were awarded to the hockey players from Mexico.
The World Hockey Championship for youth teams (U-20) in Group B of the third division took place from January 18 to 24 at the "Bishkek Arena" ice rink.
The tournament featured teams from Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Luxembourg, South Africa, Iran, and Hong Kong (China).
