Karakol makes it to the top 10 ski resorts of the CIS for winter recreation
The analytical agency TurStat has identified ski resorts in the CIS countries that are popular for winter vacations this upcoming season.
The ranking is based on the analysis of data from online booking systems for tourist accommodations from December 1, 2017, to February 28, 2018.
The cheapest winter vacation will be in Chimgan, while the most expensive will be in Chimbulak.
The tourist budget for a vacation, including accommodation and meals, will be up to $65 per day in Chimgan, $70 in Karakol, $80 in Tsakhkadzor, $85 in Silichi and Logoisk, $90 in Shahdag and Tufandag, and over $100 per day in Chimbulak.
According to TurStat, winter vacations at ski resorts in the CIS countries are planned for durations of 7 to 10 days.
Russian tourists are vacationing at winter resorts in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The average tourist budget for a vacation in Karakol is $70 per day, while in Shymbulak (Kazakhstan), which tops the ranking, it is over $100 per day.

The top 15 ski resorts in the CIS and neighboring countries (former USSR) popular among Russian tourists also include Gudauri and Bakuriani (Georgia), Bukovel and Dragobrat (Ukraine), and Nurtau (Knyazhi Mountains, Kazakhstan).
