Ski Resort "Karacol"
The ski resort "Karakol" is located in a gorge, at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Terskey Alatau ridge of the Tien Shan mountain system in Kyrgyzstan. From the panoramic summit, there are views of the nearby five-thousanders and the high-altitude Issyk-Kul Lake.
There is plenty of space for both freeride enthusiasts and those who prefer to ski on groomed trails. The skiing area features wide, spacious descents on untouched snow and specially prepared slopes. Most of the trails pass through coniferous forests.
In winter, starting from the 2008-2009 season, the mountain slopes are serviced by two three-seat and one two-seat chairlifts, as well as two rope-tow lifts with a stationary telescopic poma. A special lift is provided for tobogganers. All trails are groomed by a "Prinoth" snowcat. Snowmobiles are available to transport skiers to the slopes for those who enjoy skiing on untouched snow.
Equipment rental is available.
