The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic named after J. Abdrakhmanov commented on the directive from the Antimonopoly Regulation Service regarding the return of funds to students.

At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development held on January 27, the Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation, Zhenaly Orozbaev, reported the necessity for the University named after Jusup Abdrakhmanov (AGUPKR) to return 13 million soms to students.

In an official statement, the Academy clarified that this situation affects bachelor's degree graduates who studied from 2020 to 2024.

“During the specified period, no complaints regarding the quality of the educational process were received by AGUPKR. The Academy fully fulfilled its obligations in organizing the educational process, and students who successfully completed their studies received state-recognized diplomas,” the press release states.

Furthermore, university representatives emphasized that the cost of contract-based education for bachelor's students has remained unchanged since 2014 and amounts to 46,000 soms per year.

“This price will not change for students enrolled in the specified programs due to the decision to close admissions for the bachelor's degree, which will take effect in 2025. The Academy adheres to the principles of social responsibility and does not plan to increase the cost of education for the remaining students,” AGUPKR added.
