The Ministries of Education of Kyrgyzstan and Russia Discussed the Supply of Textbooks to Schools in the Kyrgyz Republic

Recently, a video conference was held at the Ministry of Education with representatives from the Ministry of Education of Russia. The main topic of discussion was the issues related to the adaptation and supply of textbooks on the Russian language and literature for educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan.

Participants included the Deputy Minister of Education of Kyrgyzstan, Nadira Jusupbekova, the director of the publishing house "Okuu Kitabi," Tologon Amatov, as well as representatives from the Russian Ministry of Education and the publishing house "Prosveshchenie."

During the discussion, the progress in adapting textbooks on the Russian language and literature for students in grades 3, 4, 6, and 8 of general education institutions, where both Russian and Kyrgyz languages of instruction are used, was analyzed.

The participants noted that in the autumn of 2025, the Ministry of Education of Russia plans to send 651,000 textbooks on the subjects "Russian Language and Reading" for grades 1, 2, 5, and 7 to schools in Kyrgyzstan where instruction is conducted in Russian.

Additionally, during the video conference, the stages of supplying the remaining textbooks were discussed, including "Russian Language and Reading" for grades 1, 2, and 5, as well as "Russian Literature" for grades 5 and 7 in schools with Russian as the language of instruction, and "Russian and World Literature" for grade 7 in schools with Kyrgyz as the language of instruction.

Furthermore, the necessity of adhering to the academic load, ensuring that textbooks meet modern educational standards, and the further steps for coordinating materials and gradually integrating the textbooks into the educational process were also discussed.
