On February 6, during a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council, which deals with issues of economy, budget, finance, and investments, deputy Tatiana Kuznetsova from the "Zhanı-Kuch" party raised a question about the availability of computers in educational institutions of the capital.
“Informatics is studied until the 9th grade, and the number of classes should correspond to the educational program. Can students successfully master the material without computers?” she inquired.
In response, the director of the Education Department of the Bishkek Mayor's Office, Rakhат Musaева, explained that the Ministry of Education had sent a request to provide high school students (grades 9-11) with tablets. The department has already conducted the necessary calculations and sent them to the Ministry of Education, noting that the amount will be significant.
Tatiana Kuznetsova also asked whether the use of electronic textbooks on these tablets is planned.
Rakhат Musaева confirmed this fact.
Additionally, the department director reported that this year, 14 million 140 thousand soms have been allocated in the budget for the purchase of computers. All regions have already received laptops for teachers, and Bishkek will soon receive its batch as well, she added.
