The competition covers the following categories:
- "Prose" — includes novels, novellas, and collections of short stories;
- "Poetry" — intended for poems and collections of poetry;
- "Journalism" — for collections of articles and other journalistic works;
- "Children's and Young Adult Literature" — includes novels, novellas, short stories, and poetry collections;
- "Literature on the Formation of Kyrgyz Statehood";
- "Literature on Culture and Art" — albums, photo albums, and other publications.
Authors who are at least 18 years old are invited to participate in the competition. Works submitted for the competition must be unpublished.
A collection of the best works will be published by the ministry.
Requirements for formatting the works: Microsoft Word format (A4), Times New Roman font, size 14, line spacing — 1, volume — no more than 500 pages.
To participate, it is necessary to submit an application from February 16 to April 13, 2026, through the district state administrations at the place of residence, indicating on the envelope "For the competition '40 Districts – 40 Books'", and also send it to the email address of the secretariat: [email protected].
