Issues related to ecology and waste management were discussed in the Batken region.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the discussion involved the presidential envoy Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, Minister of Ecology Akyl Toktobaev, as well as high-ranking representatives of local administrations.
During the meeting, the main ecological problems of the region were highlighted, including the need for waste recycling and improving the solid waste management system. It was emphasized that many existing landfills do not meet environmental standards, necessitating their modernization.
The topic of wastewater treatment and the development of ecological infrastructure in populated areas was also addressed, especially in those where tourism is actively developing, which requires stricter control over the state of the environment.
“Sustainable development and ecology in mountainous areas are priority tasks. We must jointly modernize the waste management system and infrastructure in accordance with modern requirements,” noted Minister Akyl Toktobaev.
As a result of the meeting, specific instructions were given to the heads of district administrations and mayors regarding the improvement of waste management, modernization of ecological infrastructure, and enhancement of environmental safety in the region.
