More than 25,000 new trees planted in protected areas of Kyrgyzstan

In 2025, significant measures for forest restoration and greening in specially protected natural areas were implemented as part of the national program "Zhashyl Muras." According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, this year:

- 16,450 seedlings of forest species were planted in the territories of state natural parks (GPP) covering an area of 23.79 hectares;

- tenants planted 8,786 seedlings for greening over an area of 15.3 hectares.

Thus, the total amounted to 25,236 seedlings over a total area of 39.09 hectares.

Additionally, according to the results of the autumn inventory of 2025, 359,316 seedlings and young plants are being grown in the nurseries of natural parks on an area of 7.1 hectares, of which 106,825 units are recognized as fully ready for planting.

As emphasized by the ministry, these activities are aimed at strengthening ecological safety, protecting biodiversity, and restoring the natural ecosystems of Kyrgyzstan.
