Rise in tariffs and prices for products. Unfavorable results for Kyrgyzstan in 2025
In 2025, Kyrgyzstan faced a 9.4% increase in consumer prices compared to the previous year. The National Statistical Committee recorded an inflation rate of 8.3% over 11 months.

The most significant price increases were observed in the following categories:



Food Prices: What Became More Expensive and What Became Cheaper in 2025



Fresh fruits led the price increase, rising by 42.6%.

Prices for fresh fish (25.1%), vegetable oils (18.4%), fresh meat (14.6%), including horse meat (20.6%), lamb (18.6%), and beef (14.1%), also saw significant increases.

Additionally, butter became more expensive by 8.9%, non-alcoholic beverages by 6.5%, dairy products by 5.5%, bread by 5.3%, baked goods by 5%, flour by 4.9%, and sugar by 0.3%.

At the same time, chicken eggs decreased in price by 3.6%, and medium-grain rice by 3.2% since the beginning of the year.

Price Dynamics in December



In December, there was an overall price and tariff increase of 1% compared to November.

The following items became more expensive:

The largest price increase in December affected potatoes (by 8.6%), chicken eggs (by 7.3%), bulk milk (by 7%), fresh fish (by 4.8%), long-grain rice (by 3.2%), as well as fresh vegetables and pasta (by 2.8%) and vegetable oils (by 0.9%).

Interestingly, in December, the National Statistical Committee did not record any product that became cheaper, which has been observed for the third consecutive month.


Regional Features of Price Increases



According to the National Statistical Committee, price and tariff increases in 2025 were observed in all regions of Kyrgyzstan.

The highest increase was recorded in Osh, amounting to 11.6%, which is related to the rise in prices for non-food goods (by 12%) and services for the population (by 13.5%).

In Chui region, food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 13.1%, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 14.4% in Issyk-Kul region.

In December 2025, consumer prices and tariffs rose in all regions of the country, with a growth of 2.1% in Jalal-Abad region.


Overview of the Food Basket from 24.kg



24.kg continues to conduct weekly monitoring of prices for a minimum set of products. Over the past week, the cost of this set decreased by 1 som, amounting to 6,722 soms.

During the week, prices for meat, rice, tomatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, and pears increased in Bishkek, while bread, cucumbers, peppers, apples, sugar, milk, and eggs became cheaper.


24.kg weekly tracks prices for the same set of products in the same supermarket. Prices may vary depending on the store, and supermarkets often have promotional items.

Analysis shows that since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the food basket has increased by 3,452 soms. Since the beginning of 2026, it has decreased by 1 som, but compared to the same period in 2025, it has increased by 710 soms.


Salary Dynamics in Kyrgyzstan



From January to November 2025 (compared to the same period in 2024), the average nominal salary in enterprises and organizations of all types of activities increased by 19.1%, according to the National Statistical Committee.

Currently, it amounts to 42,954 soms in Kyrgyzstan.


The number of officially registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan at the end of 2025 is 38,200 people, which is 24.9% less than in 2024.
