Fruits, fish, alcohol. What has risen in price the most in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year
According to the National Statistical Committee, from January to November 2025, consumer prices in Kyrgyzstan increased by 8.3 percent compared to December 2024. Inflation for the first ten months was 7.1 percent.

The highest price increases were observed in the following categories:

Food Prices: What Has Become More Expensive and What Has Become Cheaper


Fresh fruits topped the list of price increases among goods, rising by 42 percent since the beginning of 2025.

Additionally, significant price increases occurred for fresh fish (19.4 percent), vegetable oils (17.4 percent), fresh meat (15.2 percent), including horse meat (20 percent), lamb (18.8 percent), and beef (14.8 percent).

Honey and fresh vegetables also became more expensive (by 9.4 percent), potatoes (8 percent), butter (7.3 percent), dairy products (6.4 percent), non-alcoholic beverages (5.4 percent), flour (4.8 percent), and bread (4.6 percent).

However, there was a decrease in prices for chicken eggs (by 10.1 percent) and rice (by 1.6 percent).

Price Dynamics in November


In November, compared to October, the overall increase in prices and tariffs in the country was 1.1 percent. The highest price increases were noted for the following goods:
In November, potatoes rose in price by 4.1 percent, fresh vegetables by 3.7 percent, sunflower oil by 3.5 percent, animal fats by 3 percent, and bulk milk by 2.4 percent.

Moreover, prices for fresh meat increased by 2.1 percent, including beef (2.2 percent), horse meat (2.1 percent), lamb (2 percent), as well as for chicken eggs (1.6 percent) and bread (1.1 percent).

An interesting fact: as of the end of November, for the second month in a row, no product was recorded as having decreased in price.

Regional Price Changes


From January to November 2025, prices and tariffs increased in all regions of the country.

The highest increase (10.7 percent) was recorded in Osh, mainly due to the rise in prices for non-food goods (by 10.7 percent).

In the Chuy region, food products and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 12 percent, while in the Issyk-Kul region, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased in price by 14.2 percent.
Tariffs for services to the population significantly increased (by 10.6 percent) in the Talas region.
In November 2025, consumer prices and tariffs increased in all regions, with the highest growth in the Issyk-Kul region at 3.2 percent.

Overview of the Food Basket by 24.kg


24.kg continues to conduct weekly monitoring of prices for a minimum set of products. In the second week of December, the cost of this set increased by 146 soms, reaching 6,781 soms.

Last week in Bishkek, prices for cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, apples, and bananas rose. At the same time, prices for bread, buckwheat, onions, cabbage, milk, and eggs decreased.

24.kg weekly tracks prices for the same set of products in the same supermarket. Prices in the store may differ from market prices, as supermarkets sometimes offer promotions.

Analysis shows that since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the price of the food basket has increased by 3,124 soms. Compared to the same period in 2024, it has risen by 965 soms, and since the beginning of the current year, by 714 soms.

Salary Dynamics in Kyrgyzstan


From January to October 2025, according to the National Statistical Committee, the average nominal salary in enterprises and organizations across all types of economic activity increased by 19.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Currently, according to the National Statistical Committee, the average monthly salary in Kyrgyzstan is 42,919 soms.

The number of officially registered unemployed in the country as of the end of November this year was 39,800 people, which is 26 percent less than in 2024.
