This year, there has been a significant reduction in the transit of new passenger cars through Kyrgyzstan to Russia — by 52.5 percent. This information was published on his Telegram channel by Sergey Tselikov, the director of the agency "Autostat."

According to his data, the total import of new passenger cars decreased by 64 percent. In the first ten months of 2025, 290 thousand new cars were imported into Russia, which is 64 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year.

The reasons for this sharp decline in import volumes are three main factors. First, the market shrank by 20 percent. Second, there were large stocks of cars last year. Third, the assembly of cars in Russia increased.

The import of new cars from China also decreased — by 68 percent, totaling 210 thousand units. Nevertheless, China remains the leading supplier, accounting for 72.5 percent of the total volume. Transit through Kyrgyzstan this year has decreased to 32.5 thousand cars, and Kyrgyzstan's share in the total volume was just over 11 percent.
