Due to concerns about rising prices associated with changes in the calculation of the recycling fee, huge queues of imported cars have formed at the Russian border. According to dealers' estimates, by the end of November, up to 4 thousand car carriers are expected to be at the border, transiting through Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, reports the publication "Kommersant".
The import of cars into Russia is mainly carried out through borders with Kazakhstan, China, and Kyrgyzstan. Experts believe that the traffic jams at the border arose due to a sharp increase in supplies before the introduction of new recycling fee rules, the implementation of which has been postponed until December 1.
According to the company "Avtodom," there may be about 3-4 thousand car carriers in the queues at the border.
The most serious problems are observed at the border with Kazakhstan, through which transit from China passes.
According to independent service expert Oleg Chernikov, about 9 thousand trucks have accumulated at the border points with Kazakhstan.
Some sections of the border have also encountered the practice of "paid" queues, which exacerbates the situation. Waiting times at the border have increased by more than a third compared to the previous month, according to specialists' estimates.
The Federal Customs Service of Russia notes that the peak loads observed at the end of October are already behind, and the checkpoints are functioning normally.
