The crossings were closed in September following the escalation of the situation at the border and the joint military exercises "West-2025" involving Russia and Belarus.
According to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the decision was made after consultations with Lithuania and will be implemented in a trial mode. Passenger cars and buses will be allowed to pass through the Kuznica point, while Bobrowniki will open for passenger and freight transport from EU countries and Switzerland.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved Warsaw's decision, calling it "an important step towards normalizing traffic." However, the Polish side emphasizes that the reopening will be accompanied by enhanced security measures: a new protective fence will be installed in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, and control procedures will remain strict.
In the coming weeks, the situation at the border will be closely monitored by both countries, and the further operation of the crossings will depend on the stability of the situation and adherence to the agreements reached.
