From October 29 to November 30, based on the decision of the Lithuanian government, the border checkpoints "Mėdininkai" and "Šalčininkai," located on the border with Belarus, will be temporarily closed. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

Crossing through the "Mėdininkai" border checkpoint is now permitted only for diplomats, individuals accompanying diplomatic mail, citizens traveling to or from Kaliningrad, as well as citizens of Lithuania, European Union countries, and foreigners with temporary residence permits in Lithuania or humanitarian visas, as stated in the official announcement.

Currently, due to the imposed restrictions, foreign citizens, including Kyrgyzstani nationals, are forced to wait for permission to enter Belarus.

In light of the above, the ministry strongly recommends that citizens of Kyrgyzstan plan alternative routes for leaving Lithuania in advance.

Kyrgyz citizens in Lithuania can seek consular assistance at the following hotline numbers: +996 999 312 002 (Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic) and +375 25 904 54 10 (Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus).
