The director of the institution, A. B., filed a missing person report on October 23, stating that approximately at 12:45, D. N. G., a woman born in 1979 and a first-group disabled person, had disappeared.
Shortly after that, an investigation began. A forensic operational group arrived at the scene, which found that there were 250 patients with various illnesses in the hospital. Due to construction work, severely ill patients had been temporarily relocated to the third floor. Staff noticed the absence of D. N. G. during a walk at around 12:30.
The woman's body was found four days later, three kilometers from the hospital. An external examination did not reveal any bodily injuries. She was wearing black pants, a blue windbreaker, and underwear. The body was transported to the morgue of the Jayil district, where a forensic expert preliminarily determined that the cause of death was drowning and hypothermia.
