UNESCO adopted a resolution proclaiming September 22 as International Day of Nomadic Heritage

At the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, held on November 6 at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, a resolution was adopted declaring September 22 as the International Day of Nomadic Heritage. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The main efforts to implement this initiative were focused on the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, the Secretariat of the National Commission for UNESCO, and the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy.
The adopted resolution emphasizes the significance of the contribution of nomadic peoples to world civilization, promotes the strengthening of intercultural dialogue, and supports the ideas of sustainable development.
In the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, it is noted: “The Kyrgyz Republic, as the initiator of the World Nomad Games, continues to actively participate in the preservation and promotion of nomadic cultural heritage on the international stage.”
