Russia is ready to assist in the formation of the program for the Year of Chyngyz Aitmatov, announced in Kyrgyzstan for 2028.

On October 30, a meeting took place in Bishkek between the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, Mirbek Mambetaliev, and his Russian counterpart, Olga Lyubimova.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, the meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in the field of culture and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

During the conversation, Mambetaliev emphasized the importance of reviving the Culture Days, proposing to hold cultural events of Kyrgyzstan in Russia in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region. He also suggested that the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation provide methodological assistance to creative associations in Kyrgyzstan and organize an exchange of experience in managing cultural institutions.

The minister also addressed issues related to the development of national cinema, mentioning the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan and the Sverdlovsk Film Studio, which provides for free training for Kyrgyz specialists in the field of cinema.

Olga Lyubimova confirmed the Russian side's readiness to participate in organizing events dedicated to the Year of Chyngyz Aitmatov in 2028 and invited representatives of Kyrgyz museums to participate in the international festival "Intermuseum" and the children's cultural forum in 2026.

On the same day, a working meeting was held between Deputy Ministers Timurlan Azhymaliev and Andrey Malyshev.
