Recently, a meeting took place between the deputy ministers of culture of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, during which the prospects for cultural cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Timurlan Azhymaliev, representing Kyrgyzstan, expressed hope for deepening interaction in the humanitarian sphere.
He specified that this concerns joint initiatives in the fields of theater, cinema, museum affairs, and education. “The proposals include increasing the number of festivals and joint projects, as well as developing partnerships between the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan and museums in Russia,” he added.
Azhymaliev also reminded of significant joint events that took place this year, such as the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow and Bishkek, as well as the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan.
“Last year was marked by the Days of Kyrgyz Culture in Russia, which were dedicated to the centenary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region and included a gala concert at the Bolshoi Theatre,” the deputy minister reported.
He emphasized that such events will continue and their number is planned to increase. “In addition, we are actively collaborating with Russia in the field of education,” Azhymaliev stressed.
Andrei Malyshev, the deputy minister of culture of Russia, noted that the level of cultural exchange between the countries remains high. “Our contacts with colleagues from the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan are ongoing. We have moved from official correspondence to personal meetings and communication via SMS, which significantly simplifies problem-solving,” he explained.
Malyshev added that Kyrgyzstan is currently hosting representatives from leading theaters, museum institutions, and the Academy of Arts of Russia. “We are observing active development in all areas of cooperation and see a positive response from our Kyrgyz partners,” he concluded.
