During the meeting, upcoming negotiations on the development of cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Batbayar Shurenchuluun emphasized the importance of environmental protection in bilateral relations and expressed gratitude for the support provided in the process of revising legislative acts and documents in this area.
The parties agreed on the necessity of strengthening and deepening cooperation, noting the successful long-term interaction in the field of environmental protection, the establishment of a network of protected areas in Mongolia, measures to combat climate change, as well as sustainable forest and natural resource management.
The meeting also raised the issue of engaging the private sector in the joint implementation of Mongolia's green development goals by 2030.
During the discussions, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change proposed to resume the multi-purpose forest inventory project and to support the global partnership "Extended Producer Responsibility," which could significantly contribute to sustainable production and consumption. These issues will be addressed at the upcoming negotiations on development policy cooperation scheduled for October 30.
The purpose of the meeting was to raise the level of environmental cooperation between Mongolia and Germany and to deepen the interaction between the two states.
