The laboratory previously could only analyze eight types of heavy metals, as specified in the national standard MNS 5850:2019 "Soil Quality. Maximum allowable concentrations of pollutants in soil."

Recently, the installation and calibration of a new ICP-OES spectrometer and microwave digesters were completed. From October 21 to 24, 2025, training workshops were also held for specialists from the regional laboratory in the Darkhan-Uul aimag.

The acquisition of modern equipment was carried out using funds from the state budget, taking into account the Law of Mongolia "On Soil Protection and Desertification Prevention," as well as within the framework of the long-term strategy "Vision 2050," the National Development Plan for 2021-2025, and the Government Action Program for 2024-2028. These documents aim to prevent and control environmental pollution, ensuring the health and safety of citizens.
