Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge, the former speaker, has become the subject of criminal prosecution for abuse of office, receiving a significant bribe, and illegal enrichment. This was reported by the capital's prosecutor's office in its statement.
In the official message, it is stated: “The Anti-Corruption Agency of Mongolia has submitted a request to initiate a criminal case against Deputy Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge, suspected of abusing power and official position, as well as receiving a bribe and illegal enrichment,” the prosecutor's office reports.
According to the prosecutor's office, after reviewing the investigation materials, it deemed the investigators' request justified, and as a result, a criminal case was initiated against Deputy Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge under articles concerning abuse of power and official position, receiving a large bribe, and illegal enrichment, as provided for in part 1 of article 22.1 of the Criminal Code. The case has been transferred to the investigative authorities.
Amarbayasgalan Dashzevge is a member of the Mongolian People's Party and a deputy of the Great State Khural. He held the position of chairman of this body from July 2024 to October 2025, after which he was removed from office. Information about his income has not been disclosed at this time.
