An exhibition titled 'Mongolia: A Journey Through Time' has opened in Zurich.

The opening of the exhibition has become a significant event aimed at introducing a wide audience to the heritage and culture of nomadic Mongols, as well as fostering an understanding of the historical significance of Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire.

The exhibition features 235 exhibits, ranging from ancient treasures of the Huns to relics related to the Mongol Empire (1st–14th centuries). These artifacts have been gathered from the collections of the National Museum of "Genghis Khan," the "Kharakhorum" museum, and the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, and they will be available for viewing at the Rietberg Museum until February 22, 2026.

The format of the exhibition resembles a symphony in three acts, skillfully combining contemporary art with historical themes, breaking traditional notions of Mongolia. It is divided into three sections that tell about the involvement of the Mongols in ancient cultural exchanges, covering territories from the Xiongnu Empire to the Mongol Empire.

At the opening ceremony, Acting Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture B. Davaatsuren delivered a speech, noting: "This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to convey the spirit of a millennia-old heritage and the mentality of ancient nomads to modern society. It is a vivid reflection of the history, artistic heritage, and spirituality of the Mongolian people. Culture is a powerful tool that unites peoples, and this exhibition is an example of such unity."

The Director of the National Museum of "Genghis Khan," Academician Sampildondovyn Chuluun, added: "We are not only exploring the history of nomads but also opening up a world of technologies, crafts, and wonders. The past is an exciting saga full of messages for future generations." He also expressed gratitude to the Rietberg Museum for the works of Mongolian and Eastern art that have become part of this international cultural dialogue.
