
On November 18, a concert of the State Academic Russian Folk Ensemble 'Russia' named after Lyudmila Zykina (Moscow) will take place at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after T. Satylganov.
According to the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the concert of the 'Russia' ensemble is part of the declared 2014 as the Year of Culture in Russia and the Year of Strengthening Statehood in Kyrgyzstan.
The artistic director and chief conductor of the ensemble is Dmitry Dmitrienko, a laureate of international competitions.
The concert will feature popular songs from the repertoire of the great singer Lyudmila Zykina: "Orenburg Downy Shawl," "I Fly Over Russia" by G. Ponomarenko, "From Afar the Volga River Flows" by M. Fradkin, "On a Short Visit" by A. Averkin, "Bird Troika" by V. Temnov, Russian folk songs "Under the Arch the Bell Rings," "It's Raining Outside," and others.
The concert is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The 'Russia' ensemble is a modern, unique concert group that represents Russian folk music with dignity and rightfully occupies an honored place among the leading musical groups in Russia. The ideological inspirer of the 'Russia' ensemble, founded in 1977, is the great Russian singer, People's Artist of the USSR – Lyudmila Zykina.
The 'Russia' ensemble, which has gained worldwide recognition and fame, had its "musical baptism" at the legendary Carnegie Hall in the USA, where the group performed over 40 concerts. Since then, the 'Russia' ensemble has performed in many countries around the world and has toured many cities in Russia.
