Second International Music Festival of the Conservatory 2014-2015


Laureate of international competitions, honored figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan Amir Tebenikhin (Kazakhstan-Germany) will perform for the first time with the Bishkek Mayor's Big Symphony Orchestra and the KNK on September 2, 2014, in the Great Concert Hall of the Kyrgyz National Conservatory named after K. Moldobasanov.

The pianist is flying to Bishkek specifically to participate in the concert, after which he is invited to Bucharest as an honorary guest of the International Competition named after George Enescu and the winner of this competition (2009). In Bucharest, Amir will perform Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto with Orchestra, which the residents of Bishkek will hear first in his performance.

This concert opens the Second International Music Festival of the Conservatory 2014-2015, which will feature both domestic and foreign musicians. Admission is free, and it starts at 18:30.

Concert Program:

I part. Ludwig van Beethoven. Symphony No. 1 in 4 movements. Performed by the orchestra, chief conductor – People's Artist of the KR A. Georgiev, artistic director – People's Artist of the KR M. Begaliev.

II part. Edvard Hagerup Grieg. Piano Concerto with Orchestra in 3 movements. Soloist – Honored Figure of the RK A. Tebenikhin.

Biography. Amir was born in 1977 in Moscow. When he was just one month old, Amir's family moved to Almaty, where his parents – organist Vladimir Tebenikhin and the first Kazakh organist Aliya Karasaeva – were invited by the rector of the Kazakh Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, Gaziz Zhubanov, to lead classes in organ and piano.

Amir began his first piano lessons with his father, and after his untimely death in 1988, he continued at the K. Baiseitova Music School in Almaty. In 1995, he entered the Kazakh Conservatory in the class of the rector, Prof. Zhanii Aubakirova. Since 1996, A. Tebenikhin has been a student at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in the class of Professor Mikhail Voskresensky.

Since 2004, the pianist studied at the Hanover University of Music with Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling.
Amir Tebenikhin is a laureate of many competitions: First Prize at the International Piano Competition named after George Enescu in 2009 in Bucharest, First Prize at the III International Piano Competition named after Anton Rubinstein in 2007 in Dresden, Grand Prix at the XIII International Piano Competition named after Vianna da Motta in Portugal in 1999, Special Prize at the 56th International Piano Competition in Geneva, and the competition named after Queen Elizabeth in Brussels in 2003. A. Tebenikhin has performed at Carnegie Hall (New York), Wigmore Hall (London), Pleyel and Cortot (Paris), among others. A frequent guest at music festivals, he performs with many orchestras around the world. A. Tebenikhin has recorded for NAXOS, Classical Records (Russia), Genuin, and K&K (Germany).

He often gives solo concerts in his homeland – Kazakhstan, and frequently performs in Kyrgyzstan, where he is well-known among classical art enthusiasts. However, each performance by Amir Tebenikhin reveals new facets of his remarkable talent.
