Day of National Unity of Russia
On November 4, Russia widely celebrates National Unity Day. However, this date is not only observed in the vastness of this country but also in the CIS, where compatriots reside. The day before, a festive concert dedicated to this date took place in the Great Hall of the Toktogul Satylganov Kyrgyz National Philharmonic. The event featured the best creative teams from our country, which have made significant contributions over the years to the development of friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, Andrey Krutko, congratulated all those gathered on the holiday. Then, the festive concert delighted all the guests with performances by musicians and dancers. Admission to the event was free.
- This holiday is very important for us, as we are brotherly peoples, and they are inseparable; our friendship has lasted for centuries. We are very happy to celebrate this Russian holiday here in Kyrgyzstan and to rejoice in this wonderful day together with our compatriots. With our songs and dances, we want to celebrate this wonderful moment together with Russia. We wish everyone friendship, unity, brotherhood, and great mood, - noted Vladimir Belkin, artistic director of the Bishkek folk ensemble "Cossack Song."
That evening, performances were given by: the City Hall Orchestra, ensembles "Smile," "Cossack Song," and "Uchkulon," the group "Satoris," and the chamber philharmonic orchestra. The audience was amazed by the virtuoso playing of accordionists Artem Sobolev and Dmitry Mokrousov, while Victoria Alyabyeva and Islam Sagynov touched the hearts of the audience with the "Song of Love" from the film "Gardemarines, Ahead." Sergey Storozhilov performed the folk songs "Along the Petersburg" and "Hey, Uhny," and the concert concluded with Igor Vorontsov's piece "Smile, Russia."
- It is simply wonderful that the Embassy of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo organize such holidays in Kyrgyzstan, and especially this day is important for children who present various numbers of Russian culture. We are united by an idea, and the children understand what it is about, and this resonates very well, - said Irina Solomko, artistic director of the People's Exemplary Ensemble "Smile."

The holiday was established by Federal Law "On Amendments to Article 1 of the Federal Law 'On Days of Military Glory (Victory Days) of Russia'" dated December 24, 2004. The new state holiday, established at the initiative of the Interreligious Council of Russia, was first celebrated on November 4, 2005. National Unity Day was established in memory of the events of 1612, when the people's militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from Polish invaders. Historically, this holiday is associated with the end of the Time of Troubles in Russia in the 17th century. National Unity Day is celebrated on November 4, which corresponds to October 22 in the old style.
