The Kyrgyz Republic elected to the UNESCO Executive Board for 2025-2029

At the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand, the Kyrgyz Republic was elected to the Executive Board of this organization for the term from 2025 to 2029. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The UNESCO Executive Board plays an important role as a governing body responsible for preparing the work of the General Conference and implementing its decisions, as well as for developing the strategic and programmatic priorities of the organization. It consists of 58 member states, which are elected for a four-year term.

From 2019 to 2023, Kyrgyzstan successfully fulfilled its functions as part of this board.

Membership in the Executive Board opens up opportunities for active participation in shaping UNESCO's strategies, promoting the interests of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, as well as strengthening international cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and communications.
