On the professional holiday — the Day of the Diplomatic Service Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic — the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, congratulated the workers and veterans of this field. He emphasized the importance and significance of their work in the modern world.
Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyz diplomacy is based on a rich historical heritage and the wisdom of ancestors who have built relationships with neighbors for centuries based on trust and justice. In this context, this year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the face of global changes.
In his address, he highlighted that Kyrgyzstan pursues a peaceful, multi-vector foreign policy based on the principles of international law and mutual respect. The country's active participation in international organizations such as the UN, SCO, CSTO, and others confirms its constructive approach on the world stage.
This year, Kyrgyzstan also chaired the Organization of Turkic States and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and in September took on the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Important events in the political, economic, and cultural spheres are planned within the framework of this chairmanship.
Furthermore, Kasymaliev noted that in the past two years, Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027–2028 has been actively promoted, with elections set to take place next year. In this regard, the professional skills of diplomats will be especially in demand.
The head of the Cabinet also emphasized that the government is taking measures to attract investments in key sectors of the economy, such as energy, transport, and tourism. Kyrgyzstan is enhancing its potential in the fields of transport and energy and is actively participating in international initiatives to combat climate change and protect ecosystems.
Kasymaliev expressed gratitude to the workers of the diplomatic service, especially those working abroad, promoting the interests of the country and establishing connections with international partners. He also noted efforts to protect the rights of Kyrgyz citizens abroad.
To expand its diplomatic presence, the Kyrgyz Republic is opening new embassies and consulates in various countries. From 2021 to 2025, representations have already been established in France, Italy, Hungary, Mongolia, and other countries. This work will continue with the aim of improving the material and technical base of diplomatic institutions.
This year, ahead of Independence Day, a new building for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representation in the southern regions of the country was opened. The government will continue to support the creation of comfortable working conditions for diplomats.
Kasymaliev also addressed the veterans of the diplomatic service, emphasizing that the experience and wisdom of previous generations of diplomats serve as a model for young specialists entering this important field. He wished everyone health, family well-being, and success in their professional activities.
